Week 28: Math May Dos

Math is so much fun in first grade!  We enjoy mastering our math facts and learning important life skills like telling time and measuring things with inches and centimeters.

One way I like to engage my students is by giving them time to complete different activities with their group members that help reinforce the skills being taught and also reteaches previous skills that we learned earlier in the year.

We like to call this time:  Math May Dos.  We spend about 15 minutes at the end of every math lesson doing these activities.  The groups rotate each week by doing an activity with the teacher (this usually includes QR codes and Ipads), whiteboard math, different math sheets, and playing different math games with partners.  The busy bee and the worker bee get to use the computers to play fun math games!

We really do have lots of fun in first grade!!
