Week 7: Ways to Make 5-9

This week, we started an addition unit in math.  We discussed how adding is when you have two parts and you put them together to make a total number.  The children also learned that the answer of an addition problem is called a sum. 

Each day, we found all the ways to make 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9.  The children used plastic bags with a line drawn down the middle and red and yellow chips inside to create different ways to make a sum.
