Week 10: Synthesizing Superheroes!

This week, we will learning how to synthesize as readers!  We learned that readers use their schema (background knowledge) while reading and think about the details to form a bigger picture at the end of the story.  We also learned that as readers, our thinking can change as we read a story!

On Thursday, we were synthesizing superheroes! This fit perfectly into our drug free theme of the day: Superheroes and silly socks!

We read the book, Spookley:  The Square Pumpkin.  As we were reading, we thought about Spookley and how he felt.  Our thinking changed through out the story...we were synthesizing superheroes!
