Sentence Buddies
We made sentence buddies to help us remember that a complete sentence has a capital letter, punctuation, a noun, and a verb.

Math Vocabulary Bingo
We played bingo with our new subtraction vocabulary words this week!

Kindergarten Visitors
We had K-A sing songs and poems about Johnny Appleseed.  They were so cute!

Math Lessons
We have been using manipulatives like snap cubes and red and yellow chips to make models of addition problems in math!

Walk and Learn (New IPOD Program)  
Something new!  I have a new IPOD and I am having children listen to a story and walk around the school with Miss Cooney.  Physical activity and learning go hand and hand!

Week 2

Future Leaders

Our outside bulletin board states "Future Leaders Spotted Here."  I asked the children what they wanted to be when they grow up.  I started to take pictures to put on our bulletin board.  Here are some that I did this week.  There will be more pictures next week!

Reading and Math Stations
We started learning how to do our reading and math stations this week!  Children rotate each week doing four different stations.  Soon I will be able to meet with small groups during guided math and guided reading time!

Stellaluna
The reading series that we are piloting allows each child to have their own book to read and learn from.  Our first book is Sellaluna!

Rocket Math
We also started learning how to practice with our partners during Rocket Math!  The kids are learning quickly the rules and procedures in first grade!
