We are almost at the end of this wonderful school year! Time sure does fly! We were able to enjoy two assemblies this week. First, we learned about being a successful ball player by listening to an Erie Seawolf! We also listened to the 6th graders during their spring concert! What a great time!
We also said good-bye to another classmate. Josh's last day was on Thursday! We will miss you Josh and can't wait to see you again next year!!!

Week 34: Layers of the Rainforest
To end the year, we read Magic Tree House Book #19: Tigers at Twilight. We also learn about the four layers of the rainforest: Emergent, Canopy, Understory, and the Forest Floor. We are learning lots of facts, while also having fun!
We also had to say good-bye to Joslyn on Friday. We will miss her and wish the best in Boise, Idaho!

Week 33: Smurfs and Saying Goodbye
Last week, we were so excited to see The Smurfs movie at Tinseltown! It was such a fun fieldtrip. We munched on popcorn and fruit snacks and sipped on fruit punch! The movie was super cute. Thank you to our PTO for providing this awesome experience for us!
Tinseltown provides 10 movies for $5 (total) or $1 per movie during the summer months. I think I'm going to check this out with Lily!

We also said goodbye to Miss T. on Thursday! She was a wonderful addition to our classroom and she will be a wonderful teacher someday. She graduated from Edinboro on Saturday! Congratulations to Miss Throckmorton!

Week 32: Meetings and Many Thanks!
As our year comes to an end, we will be reflecting on everything we have learned in first grade. Since day one, we always start and end our day in a meeting. The morning and afternoon meeting allows us to greet each other and discuss important information that may be happening throughout the school week. This is also a time where we set goals for ourselves and discuss ways we can make improvements and help us become a better class as a whole. We are a family and families need to discuss things to make things better or resolve issues.
This week was great! I was overwhelmed with the love and appreciation from Mr. Cook and all of you. I truly LOVE my job and what I do. I love my kids and couldn't imagine doing anything else! Thank you so much for the gifts and thoughtful words! You all have been amazing parents to work with and I will continue to help "our kids" to be their best in first grade!
