Week 15: Meet our Elf

Meet our classroom elf.  His name is Michael Jackson (M.J.)!
He loves candy and his favorite colors are red and white.

Michael Jackson has a very important job in our classroom.  He watches over all the children and reports back to the Big Man every night.

We enjoy finding M. J. everyday in the classroom.

Week 14: Wants and Needs

We did a fun wants and needs project to start the holiday season!  The children learned that wants are things that we can live without and needs are things we cannot live with out!

Thank you for bringing in Holiday Toy Catalogs (especially Elizabeth's family-who brought in 47!!) so that this project could be a success!   The kids enjoyed browsing through the catalog and finding all of the things they want this year.  More importantly, the children understand that we cannot live without things like; food, water, shelter, air, clothing, and love.

Everyone did a great job reading their parts with their partners!

I hope everyone has a fun and safe Thanksgiving Break!

Week 12: Happy Veterans Day!

This week, we learned about the importance of
celebrating Veterans Day!

We read a very nice book that shared the emotions of a family who experienced the difficulties of having a family member serve our country.

We also took time to make posters that say "Thank You Vets!"

Thank you to everyone who has served our country!

Week 11: Subtraction Bowling

This week in math, we learned that subtraction is when you take away from a total.  A great way to introduce subtraction is bowling.  The kids enjoyed taking away pins and saying the subtraction problem!  So much fun!
