All About Valentine's Day

In Writer's Workshop, we have been writing All About books.  The students have learned that the purpose of writing an All About book is to help their reader learn about the topic. 

My students have also learned that they can write about a topic they already know a lot about or they can research a topic and then write an All About book.

We also celebrated Valentine's Day this week!  A HUGE Thank You goes out to Mrs. Moore for helping me out with the party!! 

100 Days.......Already?

Wow!  Where did the first 100 days of this school year go?  It has flown by and I can't believe we are this far.  Pretty soon we will be packing up and heading back to our new, remodeled school!   But until then, we are going to continue working super hard at Klein West and enjoy every last minute of it!

On the 100th day of school we thought of different ways to make 100, we made 100th day t-shirts, and we ended the day with a yummy ice cream party!

We practiced our spelling words in a fun way this week!  A cheap can of shaving cream helped us learn our words and also make our room smell super clean and fresh!  This is a fun way for you and your child to practice their spelling words at home too!  The kids had a lot of fun and learned to spell their words in a fun, new way!
