We are Wonderful Writers

In writer's workshop, we have been writing All-About books!  In the month of January the students picked topics that they know alot about.  Some of the popular titles were All About Sleepovers and All About Me.

In February, we are learing how to research topics that we don't know a lot about.  As a class, we wrote a book called, All About Penguins!  The children learned some important tools to use while doing their research.  They learned that the internet and non-fiction books are helpful tools!

We went to www.kidrex.org to find important information about Penguins. 

Our next research project is called, 'Pick a President.'  Students will pick either George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, or Barak Obama and write an All-About book after they do some research!  
We are wonderful writers in first grade!!
