We won Chip!

We won 'Chip' the dog this week for having the best attendance in the school last week!  We can dress Chip up!  I think I will make him a BUSY BEE.

Chip the Dog
We also had some guest readers in our classroom today.  Mr. Cady and some ladies he works with from the hotel; Homewood Suites read to the kids today.  It was a perfect tie-in with our social studies unit on community workers and our neighboring countries; Canada and Mexico.  Every child got to take home a copy of the book and a little Rubber Ducky!

Parent/Teacher Conferences

It was very nice meeting everyone at parent/teacher conferences!  I think it is going to be a wonderful year!

Today we had our Friday Outstanding Behavior Raffle.  Our two winners this week were:  Alaina and T.R.
Yay!  Congratulations to the both of them!

Here are a couple pictures from the math game we were playing today!  Partners rolled two dice, added them together and then colored in that many boxes.  The person with the most boxes colored in won the game!

Election Day!

Happy Election Day!   I hope everyone was able to get out and vote today!

We had our own voting activities going on today at school!  First, we voted on the school reading goal reward we will earn by the end of the year.  Our choices were:  staff dunking booth, extra recess, extra gym class with Mrs. Hess, free icecream, or....Mrs. Hess and other teachers dancing on the school roof in footed pajamas.  Can you guess which one won?  Well, I hope everyone at Klein reads alot this year because I think Mrs. Hess is super excited to dance...on the roof...in footed pajamas!!

We also did some fun Election Day activities in our classroom!  We read a great book; Grace For President!

We also made "I'm a Future Voter" posters and displayed them in our hallway!

Welcome back Mrs. Cady/Halloween Party

Hello to my first grade families and friends!

Wednesday, October 31st was my first day back at school!  I was at home with my newborn daughter Lily!  She was born on August 20th.  We had a ton of fun at home, but I am very excited to be back at school!

The kids welcomed me with a beautiful sign!

Thank you to Ms. Wroblewski for doing such an amazing job during the first quarter!

We also enjoyed a fun Halloween Party!  It was a great day!
We played lots of fun games and made a Halloween picture frame!
